STAND4ALL Training

Over the past five months the STAND4ALL training was delivered to nearly 100 people from 18 European countries.
The project STAND4ALL (Standardization for All people) aims for standardization and standards to consider all needs by following the principle of "Design for All". STAND4ALL believes that inclusion of disabled and older people or their representatives, in the standardization process will produce better standards. It was the purpose of the STAND4ALL consortium to develop and implement training courses on standardisation issues for user trainees and on disability issues for committee member trainees. STAND4ALL also promoted the use of CEN / CENELEC Guide 6.
In order to organise and stage the training events, more than 150 European umbrella organisations representing people with disabilities and the elderly were contacted.
The two courses were delivered initially at three training events in Madrid, Brussels and London. The final training which was not foreseen in the beginning of the project was delivered in Dublin in collaboration with NSAI, the Irish national standardisation body.
